The 2026 TCS survey gathered feedback from owner-operators, small trucking companies, and fleet managers across the United States.
The findings arrive as diesel continues to dominate carrier budgets. Fuel makes up $0.48 of every $2.34 per-mile operating cost, based on the American Transportation Research Institute’s 2026 Analysis of the Operational Costs of Trucking.
